It must be known that the population of South America consists largely of Americans or And lives predominantly on the Pacific coast, in the plains as well as in the mountainous regions. Four major destinations on the continent are offered by Maritima: Belize, Cuba, Mexico and Panama.
Belize is located between the Hondo and Sarstoon Rivers and is separated by the Beliza River in the center. Its capital is Belmopan and has 20,000 inhabitants. The northern part of the country contains mainly flat, marshy flat plains, while in the south there is a Maya lowland register. The Caribbean Sea borders the country with impressive cays and coral reefs. The local climate is tropical, humid and very hot.
Cuba, located in southern Florida, is the second most populated island in the Caribbean, with more than 11 million inhabitants. Its capital Havana is the most visited city of the island. Our main departure marina is Cienfuegos but you can also leave Trinidad or in the Cayo Largo and Juventus islands.
Mexico is the largest country in Central America. Please note that part of the country is not included in Central America! However, Maritima prefers to make things easier by offering you the entirety of this destination here in Central America. Like the United States, Mexico is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Atlantic Ocean (Gulf of Mexico), so we offer a wide choice of marinas from both coasts.
Panama is an ideal destination for sailing. Surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, it is also easy to get to Colombia or Costa Rica. In addition, the country is crossed by the famous Panama Canal, an 80-kilometer inter-oceanic canal that runs from North to South and provides access by boat to the Atlantic Ocean via the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean.
